Because no data is collected, there is nothing shared with anyone, including advertising networks, analytics providers and other third parties.
Image Shrinker is an offline image compression utility. When you select an image, it is decoded, resized and re-encoded to produce a smaller file.
Image Shrinker requests no runtime permissions. It does not request camera, storage, microphone, contacts, location or photo library access.
The app can select an image because it uses your operating system's standard document picker, which runs as a separate system component. Your operating system hands the app only the single file you selected, and only for as long as the app is using it. That is why the app needs no storage or camera permission of its own.
Because Image Shrinker collects no personal or sensitive user data, it does not display a consent dialog, does not request runtime permissions, and does not require you to accept terms in order to use the app. There is no data collection for which consent could be sought.
Image Shrinker does not collect or make use of any persistent device identifier, including IMEI, IMSI, SIM serial number, Android Advertising ID, MAC address or the App Set ID. No identifier is read, stored, transmitted or linked to any other data.
The app is also not used for advertising, so no identifier is linked to personal or sensitive user data in any way.
Rowston Software does not share, sell, rent or trade any user data, because no user data is collected.
Two third parties are involved in distributing the app:
No other third-party SDKs, advertising networks or analytics services are included in this app.
Image Shrinker does not allow you to create an account, so there is no account to delete and no account data to remove.
The app has no sign-in, no user profile and no server-side identity. Because it holds no user data, there is no stored account information that could be deleted, deactivated or frozen.
Not applicable, because no data is collected.
No data is retained by Rowston Software. Compressed images exist only in your device's own temporary working storage while you are using the app, and are removed by your operating system when you close the app or discard them. Rowston Software holds no backup, log or archive containing any user content.
Because your images never leave your device, there is no data in transit for us to protect, and no data at rest on our servers.
Within the app, images are held in memory only for the duration of the compression you request. The app is distributed by Google Play with standard Android application signing and integrity verification, and is served to your device as signed code.
Payment details are never handled by Rowston Software. All payment processing occurs within Google Play Billing and is subject to Google's own security practices.
Image Shrinker is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. Because the app collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children either. The app includes no third-party SDKs of any kind.
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the EU or UK GDPR, you have rights to access, correct and delete personal data held about you. Since Rowston Software holds no personal data at all, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete.
If you have purchased the app, transaction records are held by Google under their privacy policy. Direct any such request to Google, and we will help you identify the right contact if you need help.
You may also complain about how we handle your information. Contact us at support@rowstonsoftware.com and we will respond. You may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
If we update this privacy policy we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Any change will be published on this same URL before the updated version of the app is released.
